Introducing Our New Food Stories: From Farm to Fork Brochure

At Turner Price, we’ve always believed that great food starts long before it reaches the plate. It begins with the farmers, growers, producers and food experts who care deeply about quality, provenance and doing things the right way. That’s why we’re proud to launch our brand-new Food Stories: From Farm to Fork brochure — a celebration of the people, partnerships and products behind the food we supply every day.

A closer look at where your food comes from

Today’s diners want more than just good food. They want to know where it came from, how it was produced, and who is behind it.

Our new brochure brings those stories to life. Inside, you’ll meet some of the trusted British suppliers we work with across Yorkshire and the UK, including:

John Penny & Sons — Yorkshire beef specialists with a family farming heritage dating back to 1939

Yorvale — award-winning Yorkshire ice cream makers producing ice cream just 100 metres from their dairy herd

Payne’s Dairies — North Yorkshire dairy producers focused on freshness and local partnerships

Herbs Unlimited — North Yorkshire herb growers delivering produce from field to pack in as little as 12 hours

Swaythorpe Growers x Darta Yorkshire — East Yorkshire pea growers freezing peas within 150 minutes of harvest for maximum freshness

Why “farm to fork” matters more than ever

The brochure also explores the bigger picture behind British sourcing and transparent supply chains.

Why buy British?

Serving British food helps support local farmers and rural communities, reduce food miles and environmental impact, improve traceability and provenance, and deliver fresher, seasonal produce to your kitchen. As highlighted in the brochure, British food is produced to some of the highest welfare and traceability standards in the world, giving caterers and customers confidence in the quality, origin, and integrity of what’s on the plate.

Seasonality and local produce

We’ve also included a practical look at eating with the seasons, showcasing British fruit and vegetables sourced from places like Malton, Thirsk, Goole, Snaith and the Wye Valley. Seasonal sourcing doesn’t just improve flavour and freshness — it can also help kitchens manage costs and reduce reliance on imported produce.

Behind the scenes at Turner Price

Food stories aren’t only about farms and factories — they’re also about the people preparing food for your kitchens every day.

In the brochure, you’ll meet:

Victor, our Butchery Manager, who explains how our on-site butchery delivers fully traceable British meat, bespoke sausages and pre-prepared products that save kitchens time and reduce waste

Chris, our Fresh Produce Buyer, who shares how our prep team hand-prepares over 605,000kg of potatoes and 35,000kg of coleslaw every year to help kitchens improve efficiency and consistency

More than a brochure — a reflection of what we stand for

We’re proud to share this project, which represents far more than a product catalogue. It is about supporting British farmers, growers, and manufacturers, building transparent and trusted supply chains, championing quality and provenance in foodservice, and helping our customers tell better food stories on their menus.

Whether you run a school, care home, restaurant, café, pub, or catering business, we hope this brochure offers inspiration, confidence, and a deeper connection to the food you serve.

In an industry where trust, quality, and sustainability matter more than ever, knowing the story behind your food makes a real difference.

This brochure is our way of shining a light on the people who make that possible — from British farms and Yorkshire fields to the kitchens we supply every day.
